Last week Japan's fourth-largest trading house, Itochu Corp., announced that it has taken a 20 percent stake in a U.S. project to produce lithium and that it expects to start sample shipments for use in car batteries by the end of this year.

During a recent conference call with management, Chief Executive Officer Todd Hilditch explained that The TEM survey lines were extended beyond the boundaries of the salar Las Parinas on to areas covered by alluvial and volcanic material. It represents the potential of a considerable tailwind for Salares Lithium, since no other exploration company has been able to prove the extension of a brine horizon beyond the surface yet.
